GothcupcakeWrecks
So the lovely folks that bring you Cake Wrecks stopped by Changing Hands in Tempe AZ on their book tour recently and my friend Nic and I went!
We were so excited!!! There were some cool slide shows of some of the worst/best cakewrecks:
There was also a mini cake-wrecks contest being held for some pretty sweet prizes, including the ever elusive carrot jockey necklace! Nic and I baked and decorated to recreate some of our favorite wrecks from the blog. Here are Nic's entries:
And my entry:
There were so many great cake wreck entries:
Here was the winner with her awesome little wreck:
And there were cakes for all of us Wreckerators to enjoy too! They even had vegan cake ^_^
That suitcase is a CAKE!!! Amazing.
Nic braved the crowd and grabbed us some slices of *vegan* cake!! (Which ended up being my dinner that night, hooray for cake for dinner!)
My slice of vegan cake YUM!!!
All in all it was a great time, even if our cake wrecks didn't win, and as a bonus, my mini wreck was featured in the CakeWrecks blog!
Stay Spooky,
Gothcupcake

YAY for cake!! Now I feel like baking and eating cake...
Happy birthday, Marycakes!
LOVING your cake!!! Did you sculpt it with fondant? It looks so cool. Seriously can't believe you didn't win!
(Also....Happy Birthday!)
Pili: Thanks for birthday wishes! I hope you baked some cake ^_^
Sheika: I sculpted the top half from clay, baked it, painted it and assembled it (the arms are on hinges so that she can hold her frosting bouquet!!) and then I baked and decorated the "skirt" half from actual edibles. Thanks also for the Happy Birthdays!
