The Dentist Visit

I just got back from the dentist and I'm miserable. I don't have anything against dentists, I don't have a fear of going to the dentist, however I do not like it when I have to pay large sums of money that I don't have--but, I digress.

So, I had my cleaning and found that they use a tube to suck the spit of your mouth after they squirt water around in there instead of handing you a cup and having you rinse yourself and spit into a sink. The sucker thing got stuck to my tongue and the Hygienist said "This must be a new experience for you, huh?" I told her that every dentist I've ever been to has always had a little sink. She looked at me and said "They stopped using those little sinks in the 70's you must have been to very old offices."

They did use a crazy little camera to take pictures of my mouth and show me exactly what my cavities looked like right in front of me on a computer screen. I haven't had a single cavity in like 18 years and was dismayed to find that I somehow managed not one, but THREE!!! However, I was relieved to find that 2 of them are most likely there because they are in wisdom teeth way the hell in the back and I probably just couldn't get deep enough in the grooves to clean well enough.

The mysterious pain in my gums in the back of my mouth is still just as mysterious. The hygienist said that perhaps some food was stuck in there that came out during the cleaning and rinsing process and that if it still bothers me in a week to come back.

I will be coming back in a week for those THREE (oh my goth, how can it be) fillings though. I don't quite know how I will come up with $250 by next Friday (and that will be 2 days I had to miss from work for all this business so less pay) but alas, I went and got everything taken care of and set up my next appointment.

They were all very nice at the dentist, I think this is the most thorough cleaning I've ever had and they were very efficient.

Okay, enough of the boring posts...next post will be a recipe!

Stay Spooky,
gothcupcake

You're definitely not the only one not used to those sucky tubes. My dentists all had sinks until my recent visit. I do NOT like the new tubes.
