Coming Soon!

The convention in Tuscon was a little disappointing but a lot of fun. I met a lot of really great artists and connected with some repeat customers, and made a few friends!

My photographer is working on editing all of the pictures from the event, so expect a picture update soon!

Also, I have some new products in the works as well as some new ideas for revamping the Scream Team and creating future contests for the mailing list!

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the booth and thank you for all of your support!

Am I pre-owned or new?

I was checking my e-mail this morning and opened up an e-mail from The first job listing title struck me as funny... not sure if I would say I'm a pre-owned sales associate or a new sales associate on my resume...

Inspiration Strikes!

I am EXTREMELY excited about the latest project that I have been working on and for all of the new ideas that I have had over the last few weeks as well. The process of creating the things I need to make these projects come to fruition has taken me a little while, but it will all be worth it!

The most exciting thing for me, is when I come up with a new idea and I search around on-line to see if anyone else has thought of it too, and I find absolutely nothing remotely close! It's a very good feeling and I really can't wait to reveal what I've been working on.

I hope that's not too much of a build up haha I don't want people to be disappointed! I think I just had a sort of creative block for such a long time, that it feels good to have the blood flowing again :)

I hope everyone is doing well in Spooksville!

I look forward to revealing my new items, new models and a new look very soon!

Stay tuned and as always...

Stay Spooky,

Gothcupcake vs. Hot Topic

Here is my Gothcupcake zombie hand fully hand made, hand sculpted, hand painted hair clip circa 2008:

Here is Hot Topic's zombie hand hair clip from this year (2010):

It seems to be a little more than a coincidence to me...

Southern Baked Tofu "Chicken" Recipe

Now, this recipe is a little different, it requires a little work the day before you make it. You need to take a package of firm tofu, drain the tofu and wrap the tofu up or place it in a container and freeze it for 24 hours.

In addition to freezing the tofu, there is a Southern Spice blend you'll need to make in advance before trying this recipe out as well. The recipe makes a lot of Spice blend but can be saved for a while and used on seitan or any of your favorite meatless "meats". Also feel free to chop this spice recipe in half!

Southern Spice blend
2 c. flour
1 tsp ground ginger
2 Tbs. sugar
4 Tbs. paprika
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp oregano
1 Tbs. celery salt
1 Tbs. black pepper

Now for the remainder of the recipe:
1 pkg (14 oz.) of extra-firm tofu, frozen
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2c. non-dairy milk mixed with 2 tsp lemon juice

What to do with it:
1. After freezing the tofu for 24 hours, thaw tofu by placing it (unwrapped) into a microwave-safe bowl; cover the bowl and microwave on high, checking every 2 to 3 minutes to make sure the tofu doesn't cook; once thoroughly defrosted, gently squeeze out excess moisture and cut into 1" cubes.
2. Set up 3 bowls: 1 bowl of the nondairy milk and lemon juice mixture, a second bowl of breadcrumbs and a third bowl with the Southern Spice blend. Dip each piece of tofu first into the nondiary milk, then into the breadcrumbs and finally coat well in the Southern Spice blend.
3. Put the breaded cubes on a lightly oiled baking pan and bake at 350F for 25 to 30 minutes, turning after 10 minutes, until crisp.
4. Serve with bbq sauce or your favorite dipping sauce!
