Cupcake Book Giveaway!

Twinkie Chan is having a giveaway on her blog for this adorable book by Joyce Wan entitled "You are my cupcake" for (ages 4-8) is coming out this August. All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on Twinkies Blog post HERE.

You can earn additional entries by linking to Twinkie's giveaway on Twitter or on your blog, and you must put either of those links in separate comments, since she will just use the number of blog comments to determine the winners. If you leave a comment with two links in that same comment, that’s just going to count as the same entry!

Twinkie will run the giveaway for a week, and will use Random.Org to choose the 3 winners on Tuesday, July 19!

If you have a wee one who is just learning to read, or you need to get a present for a friend with a kiddo, “You Are My Cupcake” will be a yummy surprise!

Teal Hat Project-Mini Knitting Class

My friend Nic wanted to donate hats for the Teal Hat Project, but wasn't sure where to start. Yesterday we hung out and I showed her how to make a hat with a knitting hoop.

(Sneak peek at my new violet hair!)

We watched some Wallace and Gromit while we worked.

Nic caught on quickly!

Nic's first hat!

My chunky hat!

All in all it was fun and we made cool hats for a cause! :D

Purple Rain

My lovely prize of 2 purple swirl hair bows arrived in the mail this week from Tuck N Roll Kustoms! I won them in a facebook contest on their page! Perfect timing as well as I just dyed my hair purple today! Thank you Krissy!!

The bus driver before the heart-shaped glasses bus driver had nicknames for me based on my ever-changing hair colors. When I had my bright red hair I was simply "Red" then when I went purple he would call me "Purple Rain" then the purple faded to pink and the pink faded to blond and then I was "Sunshine" :) So now I guess I am Purple Rain again.

I left my peek-a-boo streak of magenta in my hair though, so perhaps it smacks a bit of Stocking from Panty and Stocking with Garter Belt. Which is fine by me!

Do you have any favorite purple-haired characters? Feel free to share!
